Strategic evolution of CAD/PLM platform strategy

While the CAD "wars" are over, retaining and growing the customer base is not. Much of the growth in CAD/PLM world is through strategic acquisitions. Once the paper is signed the hard part begins, how to gain the most synergy and growth from the acquisition of overlapping offerings. When successful, as Dassault's acquisition of Solidworks, you more than double your install base and find a number of opportunities to leverage technologies. This effort resulted in marrying two vastly different corporate cultures to form one unified platform strategy.
